Launch

In this picture, instead of doing a rocket like other people did i decided to do launch as it pertains to launching a boat into the water via a boat ramp. I drew the boat as if it had just come off the trailer and into the water. I tried to use a darker shade for the sky and a lighter color sun to make it seem like this was happening later in the day. I added salt into the water to give it texture and tried to make waves behind the boat to show that it had just been put in.

Kitchen Items: Spatula, Knife, Different spatula, Tongs, Pizza cutter

In these drawings, I just randomly grabbed 5 things from the drawer and brought them to where I draw. Some of the items were a little harder than others due to their shape and the way they needed to be drawn. Everything I grabbed seemed to be made of lines that were not so hard to draw but put more pressure on me trying to keep them as straight and accurate as possible while still following the ideas of contour drawings. I tried my best to make them as realistic as possible so someone wouldn't have to ask what they are. Overall, I think I did well learning how lines come together to make shapes and how some lines can give shapes depth. I think I could improve on trying to make the shapes and objects look more 2D and have more depth and width to them instead of just making them into sketches which I tried not to do.

Blind and regular Contour drawings

These are my blind and then my regular contour line drawings. When going about the blind drawings, I first looked at the object for a couple minutes to help be able to draw it better. I tried not to cheat on this so they both are pretty bad which I guess is the point. On the regular drawings, with the shoe I started on the back of it and slowly made my way down the side. The hardest part was making the straps in it because it was a flip flop but I thought i showed that very well. The hand however was harder because it was difficult trying to make everything the right size because I am not very good at drawing what so ever but I did my best.

Contour line drawing- Eggs

I didn't have any real eggs, so I had to use some ones i found around the house, and since they are easter eggs, that is why they are different sizes.

Lines: Vertical, Horizontal, Zig-Zag, curved, and diagonal

Vertical: The lines in the wood on the walls are vertical lines

Horizontal: The railing in the hallway is a horizontal line

Zig Zag: The parts of the gate meet together to form zig zags.

Curved: The corner of the cabinet's decoration forms into a curved line.

Diagonal: The banister on the stairs makes a diagonal line.

Stir

In this picture, I used watercolors to show a bowl of batter being stirred. You can't see it in the picture very clearly, but i put salt in the yellow part to give it a little more texture and to look like batter. I then used the apply and then blot away technique with blue watercolors to give the back ground some color.

I tried to emulate Minimalism in this work by using the bare essentials including color and shapes.
